Outside my window...

It's hot, kinda overcast, and still.

I'm thankful for...
Sisters

I am thinking about...
My BIG girl! She's no longer a baby. Yesterday we transformed her crib into a 'daybed' (aka: big girl bed). She loves it. She has been remarkably easy to get to sleep this way. However, last night (er... this morning at about 4:00am) she awoke and wouldn't settle back down for an hour and a half. She kept sneaking up, baby stella tucked under one arm, and turning on the lights to play or wander around the upstairs mumbling proudly "I det out aww by mysewf."

I am working on...
my abs! I put on a few during our long stay in WA and gotta get back into shape!

learning all the time...
Lately, I'm learning how to SIMPLIFY. Inspired by this book: Simplicity Parenting. Already, I am trying to simplify my own thoughts and choices. Being a Libra (by nature, making choices is difficult and laborious) - it is already helping me to have more time in my day and to begin to feel like I might be able to prioritize better. I don't NEED to do hours and hours of research before making a simple decision such as: which window repairman do we use?

Tonight - Mahi Mahi burgers (I think). And always with my little helper.

hmm... on a creating hiatus at the moment.

I am going...
to steamroll through my 'want to do' list today and tomorrow so that I can fully enjoy the three days when Jasper takes vacation.

I am reading...

Fabulous. Also, sitting under my bed in-waiting are my tried-and-true back to school books by Responsive Classroom.

I am hoping...
For a smooth start to the school year and the inevitable hustle/bustle and chaos that entails.

I am praying...
for a dear relative whom I don't see/talk to enough

I am hearing...
Jake snore. The window AC blow. The fish-tank trickle. (Ains is asleep!)

around the house...
I scrubbed the entire kitchen - walls, floorboards, door, cupboards... all. It feels and smells so much better! Next up: the mountainous and treacherous "pantry" which very much resembles that of the overflowing closet in a famous episode of 'Friends'. (Pantry / storage closet / office supplies / tools / mini library / medicine cabinet / random items that dont' have a home:: in a space the size of an airplane bathroom.)

heard this week...
"Mommy go to sleep. Daddy go to sleep. Jake go to sleep. Then I get up with Stella. I go downstairs and play." (Making plans now that she is able to get out of bed on her own.)

"Pee. I not touch it. Poop. I not eat it." (A little self-talk to remind herself what not to do...)

trips to the dog park
perhaps a trip to the beach or a KOA for a mini-vaca
