Presenting... Adelaide Nelle

Sweet Adelaide joined us on October 9, 2012

6 pounds 10 ounces
19 inches long

Her first cries were soft - she sounded like a kitten!  She was so snugly.  She curled up on mom's chest as mom was wheeled into the recovery room, where Addie eagerly began nursing as soon as she was allowed.

oh, our sweet baby girl!

Big Sister Ainsley arrived to meet her!

SISTERS

~ Adelaide at the hospital ~

The kids (A & Jake) were eager for Mom and Baby to come home!
I got these fabulous photos with videos and texts from my sweet family each day while at the hospital.  It was so nice to be missed and loved.

dressin' up Jake

Can you believe?  This puppy LET Ains dress him up, then obediently followed her around the house, attached by her impromptu "bling leash" made of a broken plastic pearl necklace while she swung a citronella candle.  There are no words for this.

game time

One of our favorite things to do after dinner, before bed:

8th Street Festival

Held annually, this festival around the corner from our house is a blast!
Highlighting local restaurants, organizations, and classes - it's a "taste of the neighborhood" so to speak.
And it got us out of the house without too much walking for a pregnant-momma! :)

ABear actually strung her own bracelet - and it's now a prized possession.

trapeze lessons, anyone?

ran into our playmate - D Man!

Pre School

FIRST DAY:

Ains is now attending our local DC public school and she LOVES it.
A few highlights:
* walk to school (3 blocks!)
* sleep in a bit later in the morning
* neighborhood friends (you should see the posse walking to/from!)
* uniforms (momma likes LOVES this!)
* will be able to do playdates nearby
* "a boy teacher" who is, according to A, "so funny!"
*an excellent school program: responsive classroom, readers workshop, a full time classroom assistant, Chinese language classes, museum magnet school, high parent involvement.... I could go on!

FIRST WEEKS:

"These are both roses. One is red and one is pink."

After TWO Chinese Language classes:

Jake Park!

ABear and Jake - are the best of friends these days.  I LOVE watching them play together at the park!
