soccer and swimming

another catching-up post

signed up for spring soccer
discovered this is a questionable sport for our monkey princess.

While we managed to get her on the field sans princess dress (difficult), she does have the guts and spunk to jump right in with the boys (she was the only girl on the team).

team 'jersey'
By the 3rd lesson, she developed the tactic of just launching herself onto whomever was in control of the ball.  Interesting strategy.

Mom left it up to Daddy to explain the difference between football and soccer.

yeah! That's our girl in the lead!  Stay with the ball!!!

By this point in the season, most parents either forgot or couldn't find the soccer jersey on Saturday morning. :)

Thanks for the PINK shin-guards, cousins!  The boys were a bit jealous.

GOAL!

part of the team
getting her FIRST trophy!!

"we love soccer!"
Summer brought swimming lessons at the local JCC.

Ains loves her coach-given goggles so much.
She wears them in the shower.  And in place of sunglasses sometimes. :)

Spring Break - a catching up travel-post

SPOKANE
Yeahooo!  A plane ride with my sweet pea!
Ains and I traveled to Spokane, WA together - and spent some much-needed time with my sis and Ainsley's cousins (including the newest addition).  Just the vacation we needed.
{I truly meant to post this forever-ago!}

both of us amazed at this Beautiful Wonder

Ains never tired of asking to hold Posy.  This bodes well for her becoming a big sister in her own right! :)

THE COUSINS - Tulip, Ains, Baby Posy, Snapdragon & Primrose (screennames)
(sidenote: all of those really good photos were taken by my sister, who is a pro with the camera)

bedtime stories - for the whole gang

kicked those kids out of the house to run off some steam - even though it was quite wet!
DANCING - on the Wii??? I'm hooked!

The sisters have to try it out first:

Ains rocks the wii:

ah! sunshine!!!  [Auntie helping Ains ride]

Primrose took Ains under her wing

bunch of monkeys!

The cousins humored Ains with her million requests to play the game: Bingory.

so. so. so. SWEET.  These two played together like siblings. DARLING.

Ains in awe of Prim
oh. DEAR. - sugar cereal has now been introduced.  (thank you, Auntie Sarah)

never enough of this sweet baby!!

Tulip and her sister
one VERY last game of Bingory! (game 372)

Good-bye for now - Love you all so very very much!

SEATTLE / BELLINGHAM
off on another plane - to visit the Grandparents, Auntie Haylie & Cousin Cole

Dasha and Grandpa Jack picked us up at the airport and took us to The Old Spaghetti Factory (mom's fav) for lunch!

Stayed at Nana's house - a great spot to PLAY!!

My Nana!!  (out for breakfast - one of her favorite things)
Baby Cole!!!

want a princess?
Irresistable face and hair-do on this little guy, no?
too darn cute!

yikes! Maybe helping too much!
Visit to Dasha and Grandpa Jack's house

imaginative play with full adult interaction!  fabulous.

mom and Ains just being silly

Grandpa Rex and Grandma Dee

Ains loved Papa's hat
out for a late night ice-cream
Everyone Together - for a large family dinner at Dasha and Jack's:
Mom, Cole, Nana & Aunt Haylie
at dinner - ABear insisted on sitting between her two Grandpas - she sure does love them!

Baby Cole gave the wettest good-bye kisses!
Funny what kids can get grown-ups to do.  Especially our charismatic, convincing and slightly bossy girl, ABear.  After initiating the ridiculous "game" of 'pass the coaster' -- she somehow got each and every grandparent to stand up on this table:
Dasha - always a willing sport

Nana - mortified that she was talked into this

Papa Rex - pleased to be so tall!

Grandpa Jack - can't stop laughing!!
 What a trip!
a great traveler and helper
