just livin' life...

Ains loves.. .LOVES... music.  She sits down at this little pink piano on a whim and plays music for us.  She also sometimes grabs a book, sets it open next to her, and "reads the music" in it to play her songs.

A weekend with Buddy Bison (mascot from National Park Service)
this girl has style - she tried her hardest to get me to buy these shoes

mommy & daddy down time - a puzzle in winter (above) ... and now a puzzle in summer.  mommy loves!
The - PLAYSEUM - a fabulous invention.  I've posted about it before (when she was 2?) - but now there is one down the street from our house.  $5 entry.  Separate rooms with various interactive scenes: forest, music room, art studio, bakery with real cupcakes, salon, dolly room, construction zone, pet shoppe (with real animals), and more.  A great place for indoor exploration!!

ps - nana, you may recognize this coat... you bought it for Ains when she was a baby... and now she insists on wearing it often, our little fashionista!

Don't you love it when the grocery store helps you train 'em young?
This mini cart at our local grocer is one of her favorite things.

So - Ains circled this headband in a catalog during the winter, and for days checked the doorstep expecting the package to arrive.  I told my sister about it, and Sarah sent it in the mail for a birthday gift.  It has since been worn nearly every. single. day. since!  An excellent purchase!

TWIRLING - one of Ainsley's FAVORITE things!

Our little Monkey Princess - always up in a tree!
Ok - so those of you viewing our blog from the Pacific Northwest... prepare yourselves.  THIS:

.... is skiing for folks around here.
Yup - those 4 little white strips on that barren hill is considered one of the better ski areas around here.  Due to the lack of snow this winter in DC, we made the trek for a day trip to the "mountain"... and this is what we found.  We made the best of it... Ains did get her hands on some of the white stuff -- though it had been pumped from a machine and wasn't real, it was still cold. :)

workout for the mommies

just hanging out in a princess dress... you know... doesn't everybody?
 TIME FOR THE CIRCUS!
Believe it or not - Daddy had NEVER been to a circus before. EVER.  So when he scored tickets through work, we couldn't pass it up!  Just look at Ainsley's face and you'll see what she thought about it:

Their expressions throughout the show were priceless!

Park Time

oh dear! Once she discovered she could climb up from the OUTSIDE there was no going back!

Hanging out with mom - and her growing belly!

so many snuggles for the growing baby!

snuggles for bear...

snuggles between all dollies!  I find dolls in this position all around the house.
Gloriously, summer brings time to bake!

Love. Love. Love. SUMMER

  1. Loved this post. Great catch-up.

That mouse pic still makes me squirm, though. ;)

(And those ski runs are offending my Spokane sensibilities-- and I don't even ski! lol)

  2. Ooh! Am loving all the updates!:) That mouse tail peeking out from under the mug was a lovely touch! I got a bit gosse bumpy just looking at that-yikes! Reminds me of LOTS of upsidedown jars in your & your sister's bedroom (put there by the one who posted right above me here:) with anything form a small spider to a ladybug underneath! I'll take the smaller bugs to a mouse anyday of the week!:) Was that really snow, or was the mountain just painted with a few white stripes? I loved going to the circus whne I was little. We always got some cotton candy there, which was another of my childhood favs. Keep those reat pics coming! You look adorable by the way!
