Jasper, Ainsley and I had the priviledged opportunity of a tour up inside the dome of the capitol building. (A journey reserved for members of Senate or Congress and their accompanied guests.)
This first photo is a view looking up, from the bottom. As we climbed the 300+ steps along the outside and through the rafters (Ains in a carry-pack), we stopped along the way for photos. Look for Tiffy's head popping through one of the ceiling tiles!
An amazing fact (among others) that we learned: the iron dome is actually rigged to expand and contract with a lever to accomodate for natural shifts in temperature throughout the year!
Also, a couple of artists sneakily shadowed in silhouettes of their own faces in their artwork.
