The neighbors took Ainsley to see a live Blue Grass Band in the neighborhood - she was delighted, and we enjoyed some quiet time for an hour. Thank you Ivan and Christy!
Auntie Sarah took her trick-or-treating while Mommy laid on the couch recovering and Daddy handed out candy at the door. Tales of their adventure:
At the 3rd door, Ainsley looks at Sarah with wonder and understanding glowing in her eyes: "Ebee house day gib me teets!" (glorious discovery)
Sarah: "Remember, Ainsley, say trick or treat."
Ains: "Yah."
Knock Knock
Ains: "I want a teeet." (One woman burst out laughing and said, "At least you're honest!")
After getting her treat, Ainsley would stand there, wide eyed, staring at the stranger who just bestowed a bit of heavenly goodness into her basket -- the poor soul would always shrug and give her another treat or two. :) Way to milk it, sweety!
Ains: Wets try dat one.
Sarah: The lights are off. That means no treats.
Ains: (charming gleam in her eye) Wets dust TRY it.
Upon arrival at home: "Halloween is fowah EBEEBODEEE! Teets fowah mommy, teets fowah daddy, teets fowa aunti dawah, teets fowah date, teets fowah ayzlee."
I don't know who looks happier in the first pic, Ainsley or the Jack-o-latern! Guess you won't have to worry about meals for her for awhile. Sounds like she is probably more than set, w/ additional treats at every home!
ReplyDeleteHaha, oh man how fun! I wish I could have been there to witness the amazing dawning of treats from all!
