Gettin' Cold Daybook

Outside my window...
My new solar powered Christmas lights!
I
LOVE
LOVE
LOVE
them.

I am thankful for...
healing. For my angel girl. For time. For life.

I am thinking about...
how is it possible that we've now been in DC for 2 years!? It's amazing to think of how little Ains was when we moved here... and how big she is now.  She more resembles a PRE-SCHOOLER than a toddler now! We both feel more settled in, and still very happy to be here.
then:                                                                    now:

Learning all the time...
How to better my reading instruction in the classroom -- thanks to Gail Boushey and Joan Moser!
Ains?  She's busy learning Christmas carols!

From the kitchen...
Homemade stuffing for Thanksgiving - still glowing from that one.  Oh, you mean recently?? :) God Bless those who gave us so many meals while recovering from surgery - we are still living off the freezer mostly!

I am creating...
Calm, clean and cozy around the home.

I am working on...
being nice. Still.

I am going...
to buy one of Mdme Secretary Madeleine Albright's boooks!  I am still tingling from our brief but personal encounter the other day at the US-China Business Council Gala.  I can still feel her warm hands resting on my shoulder as she started, "Well, let me tell you a story..."  I've always looked up to her, but now I am in love.

I am hoping...
to have many more dates with my Sweet Pea.  We went on our first DATE this week (she was a bit jealous, I think, of my date with dadda at the China event) -- she is a fantastic companion!  We shared a candle-lit table at the local (FABULOUS) family-run Italian restaurant.  She even initiated cheers w/ her milk & my wine: "Happy Hanukkah!" she shouted.  (Yes, heads did turn.)

I am reading...
I Capture the Castle - in fact, I need to stop blogging so I can crawl into bed with this one!
Daily Cafe
Individual reading assessment results

I am praying...
for my Grandpa Curly

I am hearing...
Christmas music - saxaphone mostly.

Around the house...
lights, tree, ribbons, boxes tucked in corners, warm fresh laundry, sparkling bathroom...

One of my favorite things...
My solar powered lights. :)

A few plans...
Christmas Tree Lighting?
Holiday parties
Visiting Open House at our local public preschool
Ainsley attending the 'playgroup' for admissions to my school

A picture thought I'm sharing with you...
