stories of summer

our ballerina...
so prim and proper!

Spent a GLORIOUS afternoon with our neighbor baby!
Isn't he just scrumptious?

Ains was ready to have him move in. ;)

summer thunderstorm: a favorite thing of daddy's

I've recently inherited my Grandma's recipe box -- and have indulged in kitchen-time this summer.  One of our favorites?  Grandma's apple crisp.  MMMM  (for daddy's birthday)

what would summer be without plenty of dolly time?

yes, dolly time...

and...

dolly gets dirty time...

and...

the clean up session doesn't exactly work right...

mommy fixed it (don't worry, nana!)
one of my many summer projects - a clean armoire-turned-linen-closet-and-abear-dresses:

Little did I notice the destruction happening right over my shoulder in the room behind me...
mammmma miiia!!!

Last hurrah of summer?  A visit from Grandpa Rex & Grandma Dee!
What a fabulous visit.  It meant so much to ABear to see her grandparents on her own turf.  She was delighted.  It was both relaxing and invigorating to bunker down for the hurricane, attend our local (historic) church, shop at Eastern Market, play games, watch a movie & lots of news, talk, cook, dine in Georgetown, and just plain be together.

Eastern Market (Dee made a haul!)

Never enough corn on the cob for ABear

G & G spent 3 full days with ABear touring the Nation's Capitol while I went back to work

that laugh!

Jake was happy for the extra attention!

guest room re-decorated and touched up - Sarah, I know you want to visit again now!!!

coveted new carpet - i cannot describe to you how HAPPY this makes me!! and it's so soft!
 So -
I brought home an incomplete bucket of magnet letters for my sweet pea.  Within 30 seconds, she had dumped them in a pile, hunted down these 3 letters and posted them on the fridge.

My heart was fit to burst!!

My not-quite-ready classroom.
Gird your loins, people, 'Summer Tiff' has left the building.

    2. I stole that picture of Dad and Ains and it is now my wallpaper.
    3. Please prepare the guest room. I'm coming. My family doesn't know that yet. Do you think they'll notice?

  2. Ains you are a beautiful ballerina! And that puddle jumping looked like so much fun (probably great for the skin too!) Looks like you had a terrific summer, from that GIANT box of popcorn to the time you spent w/Papa & Nan D. Mom's classroom looks BEAUTIFUL!
