Dinnertime at Our House

Apparently, we are beginning a tradition of reading aloud to each other at the table.... or should I say, Ainsley will be reading to the family at dinner.  We always light candles. Every night. What are your dinner traditions?

  1. That sounds like a FANTASTIC tradition! :) It cracks me up how Ains breaks out in "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" at random times. Frequently. That is hilarious.

Let's see... our dinner traditions.... we all sit down together, we light candles (during winter), we each tell our best/worst- the best part of our day, and the worst part of our day.

    Love and miss you!!!

  2. You are going to have a very early reader on your hands! So, so wonderful to see how much she loves books. All I can remember right now of dinner traditions when family was home, was taking a lap around the table if you forgot to put a napkin on your lap... Turned out to be more of a game than a lesson in manners however! Our latest tradition? Each of us saves two bites of our dinner to share with our current family members (dogs). They wait very patiently, but after one gives them their anticipated ration, they turn to other with eyes that say, OK, your turn!

  3. HAHA! I remember running laps around the table! Good times.

I can just see Chloe and Harley staring up at you with those wide eyes and drooly mouths.

  4. Aww that's so sweet!
I remember running laps too! And I remember talking about our day, and of course when Chloe #1 jumped up on Sarah's chair and ate off her plate and she refused to eat at the table for MONTHS (maybe it was Chewy?)
At our house.. We don't really have any. We eat. the dogs may or may not get some... I guess the bird is more apt to get some treats since he flies to us and will shove his face in your mouth if you don't offer him any...
